Sue Mobley – Executive Director, graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and an additional concentration in Sociology. She continued her education at the American University in Cairo where she completed a master’s degree in Political Science. Upon completing her postgraduate education she served as an AmeriCorps National Direct volunteer with New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity followed by a staff position as Community Relations Coordinator. Ms. Mobley has enjoyed working with the New Orleans’ Mayor’s Office of Public Advocacy, New Orleans Musicians’ Assistance Foundation, National Lawyers Guild, and Center for Constitutional Rights. She is a former member of the Board of Directors for Sweet Home New Orleans.
Bethney L. Whittington, LMSW – Director of Social Services, Bethney L. Whittington graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology in December 2000. Upon completing her undergraduate education she served two years as an AmeriCorps*VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) coordinating community garden projects in low-income communities. In 2003 she was the recipient of the Young Visionary Award for her work with impoverished communities in Mississippi. She received her master’s degree in social work from Tulane University School of Social Work and has over 10 years of experience in social services and grants administration. She is currently pursuing credentials as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Louisiana.
Klara Hammer – Finance Director, has a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Business from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. She has worked in finance and marketing for various European cultural institutions, and was previously the Finance Director for the non-profit Hermann-Grima/Gallier Historic Houses in New Orleans.
Kat Dobson – Director of Marketing & Development, graduated in 2007 from Loyola University New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science in Music Industry Studies. Ms. Dobson began her work in the New Orleans music community in January 2007 when she became the Communications Director of the New Orleans Musicians Hurricane Relief Fund, which ultimately evolved into Sweet Home New Orleans in 2008. Prior to her work at Sweet Home New Orleans, Ms. Dobson volunteered at numerous organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Renaissance Readers and Voodoo Festival productions. She has also interned at KID smART, a nonprofit focused on arts integration to benefit economically disenfranchised children in New Orleans’ public schools. Currently Ms. Dobson is working on her thesis to receive her Masters in Arts Administration from the University of New Orleans.
