The ‘Horn Doctor’ repairs New Orleans musicians’ instruments for free
By Ted Jackson, The Times-Picayune
Motivated by Hurricane Katrina, Mike Corrigan, also known as “the Horn Doctor,”
traveled to New Orleans from Kansas City to repair instruments for local musicians for free.
He and Nick Rowland worked out of a customized repair trailer, parked on Elysian Fields Avenue outside the French Quarter and the Marigny on a recent afternoon.
Their work was in cooperation with Sweet Home New Orleans.
